Sherill Allen battled ovarian cancer for more than eleven years! She survived by never giving up and by taking advantage of every treatment option she could find. Her participation in clinical trials at the UT Health Cancer Center added years to her life before she died at age 64.
The Sherill Lynn Allen Memorial for Ovarian Cancer Research endowment was established at the UT Health Cancer Center on Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2011. The goal is to help defeat this horrible disease. The endowment will assist in the search for early detection methods and new early treatment options. There is currently no cure for most ovarian cancer. There is currently no blood test to detect early stages of ovarian cancer. More than 15,000 women die each year and over 25,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.
A donation to the Sherill Lynn Allen Memorial endowment is tax deductible and will provide critically-needed funds to help advance new discoveries in ovarian cancer research, treatment and early detection.
Sherill fought the battle, you can help win the war!
