Yvonne De Paiva Buischi, DDS, PhD

Yvonne De Paiva Buischi, DDS, PhD, is a Research Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. She has a strong passion for oral health promotion for underserved populations. Nearly a decade ago, Dr. Buischi helped found the East Africa Oral Health Initiative (EAOH) in partnership with Dean Peter M. Loomer, BSc, DDS, PhD, MRCD(C), FACD. The EAOH initiative is dedicated to creating sustainable preventive and educational programs to improve the oral and general health of girls of poverty in East Africa.
