The Department of Cell Systems & Anatomy (CSA) is known for ground-breaking, multi-disciplinary science, and pioneering new solutions and approaches. CSA research themes include cancer biology, cell and organelle biology, DNA repair and mutagenesis, genetics and genomics, molecular biology of aging, neurobiology, and stem-cell biology. Research cores operate under the direction of CSA faculty. Genomics resources emphasize providing state-of-the-art genomic services to UT Health investigators and the local scientific community. The Optical Imaging Facility offers access to the latest technology for the imaging of living cells, tissues and animals. The Shared Resources Mission supports the research activities of investigators at UT Health and their partners through service, collaboration and education. CSA faculty are world renowned scientists and distinguished educators who are recognized for innovative teaching, including the development of software, modern curricular tools and textbooks.
