Deena Ray Liles, M.D. Memorial Scholarship Fund

Dr. Deena Ray Liles was an outstanding anesthesiologist who joined UT Health San Antonio School of Medicine’s Anesthesiology department as faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor after graduating from the department’s residency program. She was awarded a promotion in rank in 2012 to Associate Professor, and she served as the Director of OB Anesthesiology from 2006 until she passed in April of 2017.

Dr. Liles was beloved and respected by her colleagues, residents, nurses, and staff. Dr. Jeffrey Andrews, Department Chair of Anesthesiology, states, “Dr. Liles was the gentlest, most compassionate and caring physician I have ever worked with, and she was a role model for us all.”
