The East Africa Oral Health Initiative (EAOH) is about creating sustainable, preventive and educational programs to improve the oral and general health of girls of poverty in East Africa. It is also empowering girls to bring about positive changes in their communities through oral and general health advocacy.
Our main goal is to establish a comprehensive health promotion program that will significantly improve the oral health of the girls and promote healthier behaviors. This program will serve as a model for others to be replicated in areas of Africa and beyond. Most importantly, the girls will be trained to become leaders in oral health, leading their peers, family, and friends to improve their oral health and general health. Our mission is to empower these young women to self-sustain their oral and general health, and assist those in their communities to do the same.
Thus, we are working to create a long-term preventive and educational program that will improve oral and general health among girls of poverty.
Your donations to the EAOH will help us to provide dental treatment and oral health prevention, leadership training and advocacy skills to girls of poverty, as the program is expanding throughout East Africa and beyond.
The impact your gift can make:
Funding would allow for regular dental care as well as an expansion of this oral health project to other schools in Kenya, to improve the health of other Kenyan schoolchildren.
