Holly Richards Memorial Fund
Holly Gallo Richards passed peacefully at home on Saturday, February 8, 2020, with her husband, Jeff, by her side after a long battle with a rare cancer. She was born in San Antonio, TX on November 30, 1976, to Helen (Flores) and Oscar Gallo. She was the younger sister of Julie Gallo.
Holly married Jeff in 2012 and later that year welcomed Ava Rose, their darling daughter, ultimately settling into the Boerne community. Holly continued her career at UTSA where she worked in several roles on the Development Team for 6 years. Holly made a lasting impact on all of the people who knew her forging many strong relationships, especially her Washington DC girls, her Boerne moms, her UTSA colleagues, and many friends.
She had a passion for people and made friends easily and quickly. Her infectious laugh, carefree attitude and smile lit up a room. She was an amazing wife and friend, but her most cherished job was being Ava’s mother. Ava was the light of her life and gave her the strength and courage to fight for the last two years.
Holly’s faith was strong and throughout her illness, Psalm 91 protected and guided her in God’s plan. Her “prayer warriors” - friends, family, doctors, caretakers, and the Boerne and Geneva communities lifted her and the whole family in constant prayer during her courageous battle. She made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her, and she will be missed by all.
