Make a gift to help wounded warriors recover from PTSD and related conditions
Of the nearly 3 million U.S. service members who have deployed since 9/11, an estimated 14 percent have post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, and about 25 percent suffer some type of psychological ailment. STRONG STAR, the South Texas Research Organizational Network Guiding Studies on Trauma and Resilience, leads a national charge to respond to this public health crisis.
Led by UT Health San Antonio, STRONG STAR is a network of national experts looking for the best ways to prevent, diagnose and treat combat-PTSD and related conditions so that affected individuals can recover and maintain or resume healthy, productive lives.
Philanthropic gifts to STRONG STAR may support research, operations, the annual San Antonio Combat PTSD Conference, training programs for mental health providers, as well as initiatives that provide direct therapy to service members, veterans and their families. Thank you for your support!
