George D. Case, MD, devoted husband, loving father, and best friend to many, passed away surrounded by his family. He will be remembered for his subtle sense of humor and kindness. His gentle spirit will live on in those who had the fortune to know him, and he will be dearly missed.
George was a graduate of Alamo Heights High School, Southern Methodist University and Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Urology at Duke University where the esteemed chief Dr. James Glenn described him as the best technical surgeon he had ever trained. His care was distinguished not only by the highest quality of medical judgement but even more so by kindness and empathy.
In addition to his capacity to care for others, George also made time for himself and his family. He will be remembered as one of the finest golfers in the San Antonio area and was inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame. He was the youngest Champion at the San Antonio Country Club — a distinction that still stands today. George enjoyed traveling especially with his wife Kay, cherished the annual family summer trips to Colorado and Florida, and relished spending time with his golfing buddies.
George was a gentleman – thoughtful, dignified – and an exceptionally loyal and humble servant. His Faith guided him in all aspects of his life, treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Join us in honoring George through a gift to the Dr. George Dewar Case Lewy Body Dementia Fund at the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases. This fund, established by his good friends, Bill and Rebecca Reed, will focus on research of Lewy body disease and help recruit important researchers to the Biggs Institute to further the study. George’s family will be notified of your gift.
