Make a gift to the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases

One in nine Americans age 65 and older has Alzheimer’s disease. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, the number of Americans living with Alzheimer’s is growing – more than 6 million Americans of all ages have this devastating disease. It is projected that by 2050 this will more than double to 12.7 million. This disease is not only devastating to the person diagnosed but for their loved ones as well. More than 11 million Americans serve as caregivers for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.

In 2017, UT Health San Antonio opened the first comprehensive center dedicated to transforming the care of Alzheimer’s, dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases for patients in South Texas. The Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at UT Health San Antonio is dedicated to transforming dementia care through patient care, education and advanced treatments in research and clinical trials. The team collaborates with neuroscience specialists as well as the patient’s physician and medical specialists to compassionately create the best treatment plan for each patient.
