Dr. John Littlefield Memorial Endowment Fund

Dr. John Littlefield was a consummate teacher of health professionals. He served for 44 years as a health professions education consultant at UT Health San Antonio. His many roles included being Director of the Division of Educational Research and Development and Director for the Academic Center for Excellence in Teaching. John was recognized by his peers by being elected to numerous national boards and committees. He served on Editorial Boards for three health professions education journals, and wrote and presented over 100 works in his research focused on health professions education and the scholarship of teaching. However, his greatest accomplishment was inspiring health professionals to become better teachers.

The Dr. John Littlefield Memorial Endowment Award will benefit the School of Dentistry and the Long School of Medicine. The endowment award is intended to support an eligible dental or medical student who shows a strong interest in pursuing a career in academic healthcare.

Please email or phone Alex Castañeda, Director of Development in the School of Dentistry, at 210.567-6536 for additional information.
