UT Health research team tackles childhood obesity

A research team at UT Health San Antonio, seeks to prevent Hispanic childhood obesity with the help of a five-year, $1 million grant from Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio.

Leadership Gift Supporting Alzheimer’s Research

A $1 million gift from Bill and Rebecca Reed is funding research in precision therapies and palliative care at the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases.

Mays Cancer Center named in honor of San Antonio family and their dedication to ensuring world-class comprehensive cancer care for patients in San Antonio and South Texas.

$1 Million Gift Expanding Caregiving Research

Karen and Ronald Herrmann are supporting the School of Nursing’s innovative research to develop and test new models of care, clinical trials, intervention delivery and emerging technologies for caregivers.


In August 2020, Poornima “Nima” Mensinkai, Ph.D., assistant professor/clinical of comprehensive dentistry, discusses the new Bien Air handpieces distributed to first-year students.

Gift Advances Dental Education, Patient Care

Through a $1.6 million gift from its David Mosimann Foundation, Bien Air Dental USA donated and installed more than 500 control panels and electric power sources in School of Dentistry clinics and labs.

Special Care Clinic Named for Philanthropists

The School of Dentistry’s Phil and Karen Hunke Special Care Clinic at the Center for Oral Health Care and Research will meet the needs of people with cognitive and physical disabilities.
