Family & Community Medicine

We are a large and diverse academic department committed to providing accessible, comprehensive, high quality and personal health care at several sites in San Antonio. Our family physicians provide medical care for the entire life-span: pre-natal care, children, and adolescent care, adult and elderly care. We take seriously our academic responsibility to generate new knowledge that will help build models of high performance organizations, including the Patient-Centered Medical Home. Our physician researchers are conducting national and regional experiments at the cutting edge of understanding how to build these medical homes.
