SIGNATURE PROGRAMS - TRANSPLANTATION SCIENCE
The University of Texas Health Science Center Transplant program serves as a tremendous multi-faceted educational resource as it provides students invaluable real-life experiences surrounding the coordination, surgical skill and clinical care involved in organ transplant procedures.
The Transplant Center, in partnership with University Health System’s Transplant Program provides the most state-of-the-art Transplant Unit and exceptional Clinical team in the region. Since the inception of this multi-organ transplant program in 1985, nearly 2,300 organ transplants have taken place. It also celebrated a major milestone with its 1000th liver transplant surgery, placing the program among the largest in the nation.
